Melamine-Urea-Formaldehyde resins are poly-condensation products of the reaction of formaldehyde with urea and melamine, where the quantity of the melamine is above 10% calculated on a liquid basis. MUF resins have high water and weather resistance and therefore are applied in the production of panels for exterior use or in conditions of high humidity.
MUF resins provide panels with superior properties and this compensates their high raw material cost. Therefore MUF resins are the most commonly used adhesives for the production of construction elements - PB, MDF, OSB and plywood.
