STRONG RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT
CHIMAR covers all phases of research and development work, including lab scale testing, everyday problem solving and final stages of development and industrial implementation, thus creating value from research results. Most of the technology developed by Chimar has been applied so far in plants located all around the world.
CHIMAR owns a well-equipped chemical laboratory for advanced synthesis and analysis of resins and chemicals as well as pilot scale installations for resin making. It also offers wood panel production and performance testing in its technical laboratory.
CHIMAR R&D is organised in 4 groups:
i. R&D for medium- to long – range projects
ii. Troubleshooting – a quick response line serving the customers remotely from Greece
iii. Technical support – field chemists and engineers serving customers in situ
iv. R&D support – funding and administration of long-range projects -management of Industrial Property Rights (IPR).
By participating in collaborative research projects with established research/industrial organisations in the sector (projects funded internally or partly supported by the European Commission), Chimar Hellas aims to develop and promote innovative products and technologies, while cooperating with the best partners.
CHIMAR has participated so far in 23 European funded projects and in 3 Scientific Networks. CHIMAR’s personnel is also involved in paper preparation and presentation in International Conferences and Journals.
